Climate Justice By and For Community

Foundations for Leaders Organizing for Water and Sustainability (FLOWS) works towards social & environmental justice by reclaiming ecological wisdom, celebrating cultural wealth and leadership, & creating economic opportunities towards a Just Transition. We build community capacity, beautify environments, & transform systems for justice and resilience led by & for People of Color, Immigrants, affordable housing residents, LGBTQIA+ & Frontline communities.

Who We Are

Uniquely led and founded by Women of Color in Boulder County, Colorado. We bring over forty years of combined community and climate justice experience, and speak a combined total of five languages.

What We Do

We build community leadership, beautify environments, and transform systems for justice and resilience, led by and for People of Color, Immigrants, affordable housing residents, LGBTQIA+ and Frontline communities.

Community Resilience Hubs

We are developing community leadership and building resilience. From permaculture and green infrastructure to solar power and emergency communications, we are initiating resilience hubs in Boulder County affordable housing communities.

Climate Justice Trainings (English & Spanish)

We provide comprehensive English & Spanish trainings to educate Frontline communities on climate justice, how it impacts our communities, and our roles in the movement— from our lens.

Ecosystem restoration

We facilitate hands-on educational experiences to strengthen and rebuild our local ecosystems, including workshops on water harvesting, rain gardens, native plants and edible forest gardening.
